I am new to LA (or am moving to the LA area), how can I find out more info?
There are a few ways to find out what is going on with the L.A. Texas Exes:
- Sign up for the LA Texas Exes email list here
- Visit this Web site regularly
- ‘Like’ our Facebook page
- Make sure your membership and address are up to date with the Texas Exes
What is the LA Texas Exes?
The Texas Exes Los Angeles Chapter is the official chartered chapter of Texas Exes (formerly The Ex-Students’ Association of The University of Texas) in the Los Angeles area. It is a volunteer run organization whose mission is to create opportunities for fellowship and meaningful alumni involvement for Texas Exes members while carrying out association programs at the local level, and raising money to provide scholarships for local area students to attend the University of Texas.
How do I become a member of the LA Texas Exes?
Since the LA Texas Exes is the official chartered chapter of the Texas Exes (formerly The Ex-Students’ Association of The University of Texas), membership in the Texas Exes automatically makes you a member of your local chapter. Chapter membership is also determined by zip code, so please make sure your address is current with the Texas Exes. To update your address and/or check your membership status please click here. But it’s not just joining the Texas Exes that makes you a member. Your participation in Chapter events is also important! You will get out what you put into the Chapter.
How do I know if I am a member?
All Texas Exes members receive the alumni magazine Alcalde and local event post cards. If you do not receive the Alcalde or any local event post cards, it is for one of two reasons:
- Texas Exes does not have your most recent address, or
- You are not a current Texas Exes member. Please visit the membership section to update your address, check your membership status, or join the Texas Exes.
Do I have to be a member to attend events?
No, you do not have to be a member to attend events, but members do receive discounted ticket prizes and occasional freebies. Official membership in the Texas Exes also financially supports the LA Texas Exes through communication expenses and more.
Where do you watch football games and other sporting events?
We have two official game watching locations in the LA area
What different programs do the LA Texas Exes have?
Can I suggest a location for an event or program?
The LA Texas Exes are always looking for new ideas for programs, locations for events, and more. Please send any suggestions to email@example.com or contact our Event Chair, JJ DeLaRosa.
How do I volunteer or become more involved with the LA Texas Exes?

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer member of the Texas Exes Los Angeles chapter, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
